Sara Evans has only had an unfulfilled dream throughout her entire life she has always wanted to compose and sing in the country genre. Evans is quoted as saying, "God has put me in this world to be a singer." This is according to John Meroney from American Enterprise. That's what I love and my goal. Additionally, Evans wanted to succeed by returning to the traditional country music that was brought to life by famous stars like Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Tammy Wynette, George Jones as well as Patty Loveless, musicians Evans thought of as her most influential influences. During the late 1990s, in a time where most promising country musicians turned to contemporary popular radio tunes Evans created her first mark through her performances of country tunes that drew inspiration from the past as demonstrated by her 1997 debut, True Lies. Although it received a lot of praise and a nomination from the Academy of Country Music in 1998 for the best female vocalist, True Lies made little impact. Evans was enticed to change her song repertoire for No Place That Far in 1999 by producers. This gave her the recognition that she'd wanted for a long time. Sara Evans, born on February 5th, 1971 in Columbia Missouri was an American singer and songwriter. Sara Evans grew up with six of her siblings.
